Congratulations to the Brant United Way on meeting and surpassing their 2015 fundraising goals! Brantford’s Town crier David McKee announced the good news during their annual Achievement Luncheon held at the Best Western Brant Park Inn.
The Brant United Way not only met its ambitious goal of $1,651,000 million, it “smashed it.” The final total of $1,660,992 is almost $10,000 more than the goal that was previously set.
Millards Chartered Professional Accountants have been sponsors of the Achievement Luncheon and the Leadership Challenge program since 2011. Millards’ partners and staff also participate in an employee fundraising campaign with 100% participation.
Julie Baetz, Partner of Millards is proud of her firm’s participation and says the support of the Millards team is testament to their dedication to community.
“Millards is comprised of caring and giving Partners and employees that understand the incredible work and value of Brant United Way. We can accomplish so much when we all work together.”
Sherry Haines, Executive Director of Brant United Way is thrilled by this years fundraising achievement but not surprised with the results.
“Area businesses, organizations and private citizens rallied to show their support for the Brant United Way and our essential member agencies. We are able to support so many people who live in Brantford, Brant County and the Six Nations of the Grand River with this money. We’re fortunate to live in a generous and compassionate community that understands that together, we are possibility.”
About 200 volunteers work on the annual campaign. Funds raised will go to the United Way’s 18 member agencies and to Community Impact Grants.
Member Agencies include: Adult Recreational Therapy Centre, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, Brant Food for Thought, Brant Skills Centre, Brantwood Community Services, the Canadian Hearing Society, Canadian Red Cross Society, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Community Resource Service, Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre, Family Counselling Centre, Kids Can Fly, Navy League of Canada, Nova Vita, Sexual Assault Centre, Victims Services and the YMCA.
