Millards Chartered Professional Accountants in Brantford has just completed its year-end 2020 Brant United Way fundraising campaign and is pleased to announce that the firm has raised $35,000 through the efforts of the Partners and Staff. This brings the Millards’ 2020 Brant United Way contribution to $60,000. The firm made a earlier donation of $25,000 in September along with three other area individuals and organizations that made kickoff donations totalling $100,000.
Millards’ Manager of Building Operations, Katie Di Domenico, says that the Millards’ team exceeded their end-of-year campaign goal.
“We are proud to announce that not only did we hit our 2020 year-end campaign goal of $25,000 but we surpassed it and raised a total of $35,000. Millards’ Partners and Staff have been very supportive and generous during a difficult year with many charitable endeavours and I’m proud that we were able to present an additional donation to help member agencies in need.”
The $60,000 donated to the Brant United Way this year will support local charities throughout our community.
Martin Dixon, Millards’ Brantford Senior Partner says that the Brant United Way is facing difficult times made tougher by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Brant United Way funds local, essential services that make a difference in our community. Earlier in the year, the United Way shared with us their plan to be more locally focussed so it was very easy to get on board with a strong campaign. COVID-19 has been a real challenge for the member agencies that had to cancel fundraising events. I’m proud of our Staff and our Partners for digging deeper this year to help deliver a successful 2020 for Brant United Way, in spite of the pandemic.”
2020 marks the 100th anniversary of Millards and Dixon believes the donations are fitting as the firm celebrates a century of service.
“This community has given so much to us and it’s our pleasure and responsibility to give back in return. Millards made its largest social commitment to date in 2020 with a $250,000 donation to Why Not Youth Centres. We want to end our anniversary year by reinforcing our commitment to the community we serve. It’s only fitting that we finish the year with a donation to a successful Brant United Way campaign.”
