Often artists and their work are not appreciated until they are no longer with us. Such is the case with William Edgar Cantelon. Mr. Cantelon was a visionary who dedicated his life to collecting and preserving the history of Norfolk County.
Millards Chartered Professional Accountants has 7 Southern Ontario locations including one in Simcoe. Millards is proud to sponsor a gala fundraising dinner in Simcoe this Wednesday for the support of the Norfolk Historical Society. The business casual event entitled, “An Evening With Cantelon,” will feature Guest Speaker Melissa Collver and her presentation on the life and work of William Edgar Cantelon.
The gala fundraiser at the Blue Elephant Dinner includes wine tastings with Frisky Beaver, beer tastings with New Limburg, a silent auction and live music in addition to the keynote speech on Cantelon. Guests will also get an intimate viewing of Cantelon’s paintings and VIP access to the Eva Brook Donly Museum.
Tickets are just $65 ($40 after tax deducted) and you’ll be helping to raise money for the Norfolk Historical Society and a scholarship/grant program for young students of history.
